An Update
Posted by admin at 10:51 pm in This VA's Journey, VA/Client Partnerships

I would like to report that my former client that was having trouble paying me, finally came through today. I’m very happy about this because I truly believed it was a communciation barrier - you know, Africa to the US can be quite a leap. She was a very nice person though and I am usually one to give the benefit of the doubt.

Of course, as I stated in the previous post regarding this partnership, I will not be crossing the boundaries I’ve set for myself in regards to anything in my VA business. Boundaries are too important to overlook.

Three VAs Are Better Than One!
Posted by admin at 3:32 am in This VA's Journey, Western New York

I have been searching for VAs in my area of New York - Western New York to be exact. I have finally found two VAs that are singing my song!

I am driven and excited about my VA business. I am striving to be the best VA I can possibly be and I’m learning every day. My two VA friends - Shannon - The Virtual Vantage - and Michelle - WNY Virtual Office - have a great deal to offer in knowledge, ideas, suggestions and more. They are very excited to be on this VA journey as well.

One of the greatest things about the VA industry is the willingness of the Virtual Assistant’s to help other VAs in any way they can. The forums are great and the organizations have a so much to share.

So Shannon and Michelle are a very welcome addition to my VA Network - They are not my competition - they are my Virtual Alliance.

VA Training
Posted by admin at 1:30 am in This VA's Journey, VA Training and Education

Well, I just finished my VATraining Jumpstart Course. I really enjoyed the class and learned a great deal in just 8 weeks of tele-classes. Dale and Becki Noles have really got a handle on what the VA industry is and how to achieve your goals with your business.

Becoming a VA was not really a challenge when it came to the service end of things. Where the challenge really begins is with the business side of running a VA business. I’ve never owned my own business before so learning the finer points of bookkeeping, record-keeping, marketing, networking, etc. has become paramount for me. Dale and Becki have really helped me hone in on how important it is to have a niche and target market. Before VATraining I was not very focused. I am working on changing this paradigm for myself.

There are many VA Training sites out there and I’m sure most are very good and reputable. However, the cost is an issue with many VAs just starting out. Dale and Becki offer a plethora of assistance for a fraction of the cost of a larger VA educational outlet. I highly recommend this training course to any VAs who need assistance with the business nuances of solopreneurship. It was so worth the money and I plan on continuing in their Virtuoso VATraining course in the beginning of the new year.

I guess I’m starting early with my New Year’s Resolutions!
